Your weight loss blog is not only a platform for you to express how you feel during the journey, but it’ll also serve as a tracking tool to monitor your progress. Let’s take a look at how you can use it to efficiently track your weight loss efforts and results.

You can better track your calories

It goes without saying that you’ll need to monitor your calories. The best way to do this will be to first know what your calorie requirements are. You can discover your calorie numbers here: https://www.freedieting.com/calorie-calculator
Once you know your calorie numbers, you’ll just need to estimate how many calories you’re consuming daily. You do not need to be calculating it down to the last calorie. Just aim for a 400 to 600-calorie deficit. This will ensure that you’re on the path to weight loss.

Your diet is easier to track and follow

You’ll need to write down all the food you eat daily on your blog. If it goes in your mouth, it goes on the blog. This will make it easier to not only calculate your calorie consumption daily, but you’ll be able to make improvements to your diet.
If you notice that you’re drinking a can of soda every afternoon, you may choose to drink just half a can. Or maybe switch out the soda for freshly squeezed fruit juice. Your goal should be to clean up your diet completely by making measurable progress in reasonable time.

Your training regimen is documented

Nowhere will be it be more evident that you’ve improved than in your training regimen. Plan your exercise schedule for the week. Ideally, you should have 3 cardio sessions, 2 weight training/resistance training sessions and 2 days off.
You should stretch for about 15 minutes or so daily. Write down all the timings for your cardio sessions. If you’re on the treadmill and it takes you 18 minutes to walk 2 miles, make a note of it.

Over time you’ll notice that you can complete the distance in a shorter time. You may even choose to alternate between sprinting and walking. Your stamina is improving and the results on your blog will reflect it
The same applies to your resistance training. If you could barely do 5 pushups when you first started, and now you’re pumping out 20 easily, this is a huge improvement.
Write it all down on your blog and always strive to beat your personal bests during training. This is the best way to motivate yourself and improve.

You have a record of how you feel and how you have improved

It would be a good idea to include short notes about how you feel after your meals and workout sessions. Initially, you may feel exhausted and drained.
Over time, you’ll realize that your workouts leave you feeling refreshed and energized. You also feel better because your diet is cleaner. All these will be reflected in your blog entries which will indicate that your health and fitness is improving.

Monitoring changes as they improve

Besides just using words and numbers, photos should be used as a tool to record your journey. Your before and after photos will show how much weight you’ve lost. Photos of your meals when you first started VS the meals you have now will reflect a stark difference and show you how your diet has improved.

Are you ready to start tracking your weight loss journey?

Blogging during your weight loss journey must be done with purpose… and one of the best ways to do it is to use it as a roadmap filled with mile markers to show you how far you’ve come and how much you’ve advanced.
